Grade 3 - Already June

May 31

I must first apologize for posting this entry a day late, unfortuantely I had internet connection issues yesterday and was unable to post. I was quite happy to hear that several students could not find the weekly blog as it tells me that more people are reading and finding out information through my entries.

Well the countdown has begun! Today I had several stuents tell me exactly how many days were left of school and I'm sure I'll hear even lower numbers being mentioned over the next few weeks. We are all hoping here at the school that there will be a few parents willing to help out with special events in these closing weeks. Have a look below fo rsome of the important dates as well as notices coming home with your children if you are able to come in and help out.

June 8 - Elementary Fun day! (We will need lots of help for this one)
June 9 - Canada Day (Of course not the official Canada day, Grades 1 - 3 will be celebrating our unit on Canada with a variety of fun Canada themed activities in each of the different classrooms. (Parent help on this day would also be helpfull)
June 10 - Waterslide day
June 12 - Celebration Chapel (All parents are invited to our last elementary chapel together. We will be meeting in the chapel first thing in the morning (8:45) right after taking attendence.

Last week there was a social studies quiz on provinces and capitals and for those students that were away that day or that wish to imporve their mark there will be a make up quiz on Wednesday at recess this week.

Things due this week are the social studies flag (create your own Canadian flag), the convincing paragraph, and the Math test corrections (which will need to be signed by a parent and returned).
